The Fix is in. Microsoft on Sunday issued a warning about a newly discovered exploit of a security vulnerability that impacts all versions of Internet Explorer (IE) released in the last decade. And while the firm has provided a set of workarounds to help customers until a fix is released, this exploit could represent the first major security issue that will not be fixed for Windows XP, which recently exited its support lifecycle.
“Microsoft is aware of limited, targeted attacks that attempt to exploit a vulnerability in Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, Internet Explorer 10, and Internet Explorer 11,” a support notice on the company’s web site explains. “The vulnerability is a remote code execution vulnerability … An attacker could host a specially crafted web site that is designed to exploit this vulnerability through Internet Explorer and then convince a user to view the web site.”
Microsoft on Thursday released an out of band security update to fix the Internet Explorer security vulnerability it disclosed this past weekend. The firm had suggested it might fix the issue outside of its normal monthly security update schedule, but there was one surprise: Despite the fact that Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP last month, it has elected to fix this issue on XP too.

Since TV remotes broadcast their codes in the infrared spectrum you can’t see if it sending anything, until now.
Here’s a tip I found that lets you check to see if the remote is sending its infrared signals to your device.
